Two tournaments, two second-place finishes, and more noteably two second-half collapses.

It doesn’t seem to matter who is or is not playing for coach Bob Bradley’s squad this summer.
Throughout the Gold Cup, it has been well documented how the U.S. has lost players to their European club teams and it appeared like only a matter of time that it would catch up to the team.
But with [...]

It wasn’t their best performance of the tournament, but a late penalty kick kept the U.S.’s quest to repeat as Gold Cup champions alive.
In a match where coach Bob Bradley’s squad had to battle back for the extra-time victory, a bad tackle in the box allowed Kenny Cooper to put away the game winning penalty [...]

After two shut-out wins to begin the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup, the U.S. men’s national team needed a stoppage time goal from midfielder Stuart Holden to secure a tie versus Haiti.
Holden also assisted a goal to Davy Arnoud to put the U.S. up early.
“Confidence, the more games I’ve gotten I think I’ve got more comfortable,” [...]
